Glossary · Leads and conversion

Qualified lead

A lead that meets agreed criteria for relevance, need, authority, timing, location, or commercial fit.

Also called: qualified inquiry, qualified inquiries

Definition

Qualification criteria should reflect the business model and may be assessed through form details, conversation, behavior, source, or sales review. The criteria need to be explicit enough for reporting and routing to be consistent.

Why it matters

Qualified-lead measurement separates useful opportunities from spam, mistaken inquiries, job seekers, vendors, and poor-fit demand.

Common misunderstanding

A qualified lead is not a guaranteed sale, and one universal qualification model does not fit every business.
