Cloudflare
A third-party internet-infrastructure provider whose services include DNS, traffic proxying, content delivery, hosting, security, and data products.
Definition
Cloudflare provides mature infrastructure products that can sit between a domain and its origin, answer DNS, proxy web traffic, cache content, protect applications, host sites, and support application services. Which role it performs depends on the account and configuration.
Why it matters
A Cloudflare account may control delivery, DNS, security, deployment, or data paths, so ownership and configuration affect website continuity.
Common misunderstanding
Using Cloudflare does not mean Cloudflare built the website, owns the business domain, or automatically makes every configuration fast, secure, or correct.
Ownership implications
Record the controlling account, zones, administrator roles, recovery method, active products, and export or rollback path.
Business implications
Treat Cloudflare as supporting infrastructure and name the exact product involved instead of presenting the vendor as a Boho-built tool.
