Cloudflare D1
Cloudflare's managed serverless SQL database product, built around SQLite-compatible semantics and application bindings or APIs.
Also called: D1 database
Definition
Cloudflare D1 is a managed database used by applications running in Cloudflare's developer platform. Application code can read and write structured records through bindings or APIs while Cloudflare operates the underlying service.
Why it matters
When form or application records live in D1, the Cloudflare account, schema, access policy, retention, exports, and recovery path become part of the system.
Common misunderstanding
D1 is not a generic synonym for every database and a managed service does not remove the need for data governance or backups appropriate to the application.
