Glossary · Analytics and measurement
Page view
An analytics record that a page was loaded or displayed under a configured tracking definition.
Also called: page views, page-view
Definition
A page view is created when an analytics implementation records that a page or route was shown. Single-page applications, reloads, duplicate trackers, blocked scripts, bots, and configuration rules can change what the count represents.
Why it matters
Page-view trends can help explain discovery and navigation, but the definition and collection method must be stable before comparing periods or tools.
Common misunderstanding
A page view is not automatically a unique person, qualified visit, lead, or successful business outcome.
