WCAG 2.2 AA

A Level AA conformance target within the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2.

Also called: WCAG, WCAG 2.2

Definition

WCAG 2.2 organizes testable accessibility success criteria under principles that content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Level AA includes all Level A and Level AA criteria that apply to the content being evaluated.

Why it matters

A named target gives design, engineering, content, and testing teams a shared accessibility standard instead of relying on visual opinion alone.

Common misunderstanding

Targeting or passing a checklist does not guarantee that every user can complete every task, and conformance claims require defined scope and evidence.
